How EVIZI™ helped Visual Matrix improve requirements clarity, accelerate testing, and efficiently execute more than 700 automated test cases

Visual Matrix is a property management system serving hotels and motels worldwide. Its cloud, desktop, and mobile applications help hotel teams manage daily operations efficiently, including properties operating with limited staff.
Maintaining quality across these platforms required more than additional testing capacity. Visual Matrix needed a QA partner that could work across its product ecosystem, improve coordination throughout development, and keep a growing automation suite from slowing delivery.
The primary challenge was alignment across the Product Owner, development, and QA teams.
User stories were often written at a high level without sufficient detail about business logic, edge cases, or the potential effect on legacy functionality. In some instances, requirements did not fully reflect the customer request.
Developers sometimes implemented changes based on the initial description without thoroughly evaluating dependencies or conflicts within the existing codebase. When QA subsequently identified logic inconsistencies or regression issues outside the stated requirements, resolving them could lead to rework and disagreements over scope.
At the same time, the expanding automated test suite was increasing the time required to execute the complete test flow and investigate failures.
EVIZI™ introduced a shift left testing approach that integrated QA throughout the delivery process from requirements analysis through final validation.
Earlier Requirements Validation
During sprint planning, QA reviewed requirements and acceptance criteria to identify missing details, edge cases, and risks to legacy functionality. When clarification was needed, EVIZI™ brought the Product Owner and development team together to establish a shared understanding before implementation progressed.
Test Design Connected to Development
QA created checklists and test cases linked directly to each ticket for Product Owner validation. Preparing tests earlier allowed the team to provide feedback during development and begin execution as soon as features were ready.
Scalable Playwright Automation
To address longer automation runtimes, EVIZI™ implemented sharding within the Playwright framework.
Playwright already executed test files in parallel across available CPU cores. Sharding extended that model by distributing tests across multiple machines, allowing each group of tests to run independently and significantly reducing overall execution time.
Real Time Failure Visibility
EVIZI™ also integrated real-time test notifications and failure alerts with Microsoft Teams. The team could identify failing tests while a test job was still running instead of waiting for the entire job to finish.
More Than 700 Automated Tests Executed Efficiently
The optimized framework supports the efficient execution of more than 700 automated test cases with a pass rate above 90%.
Because each shard operates independently, debugging can begin as soon as the first shard completes. Real-time alerts give the team earlier visibility into failures and shorten the feedback loop.
